A school day for an Explorations Academy Student is busy and rewarding!
Daily Schedule
| The standard school day runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Lunch break is typically 40 minutes. Due to scheduling of field experiences, guest speakers, and projects, the exact time of lunch is subject to change. Field days generally represent 10 hours of instruction, and run between 8:00 AM and approximately 9:00 PM, or longer if necessary. We also occasionally schedule extended school days called "lab days" from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM to allow time for focused projects. Students are also expected to attend the Term-End Event that is typically held the evening of the last day of the term. Our mathematics and foreign language courses typically follow a regular weekly schedule on Monday through Friday mornings. The theme-based curriculum occupying the remainder of the school week is scheduled according to the specific topics being presented. Thus, the courses scheduled for each period often change from week to week. |

Period 4 -- 11:50 AM -- 12:50 PM
Period 5 -- 12:55 PM -- 1:55 PM
Period 6 -- 2:00 PM -- 3:00 PM
School Cleanup--3:00 PM to approximately 3:20 PM
