Washington State History Expedition Returns
Our two-week journey around our state has returned safely to Bellingham!

This Fall, when thousands of area high school students hit the books to study Washington State History, Explorations students hit the road instead. Twenty-two Explorations Academy students and three teachers spent two weeks touring all across the state of Washington, digging for fossils in Republic, reenacting history at the Whitman Museum, exploring the legislative process in Olympia, and rowing a replica of Peter Puget's longboat in Port Townsend. They visited several of the Indian nations that predated what we now call Washington, and talked with local citizens in dozens of communities about how they perceive their role in our state and nation.
