Photos From Baker Lake
Both middle and high schoolers returned from incredible trips to Mt. Baker Lake they had the last two weeks. They learned a great deal and have many stories to tell about their trips.
Fall Farm to Table Dinner
We are excited to announce another collaboration with Eric Truglas, renown chef at the Captain Whidbey Inn and parent of an EA student. The event takes place at Lairmont Manor on October 12, at 5:00 pm. Truglas will prepare a four-course meal of French-fusion food, featuring locally-sourced ingredients. This will be our biggest fundraiser of the fall season, and we very much appreciate you spreading the word about this fantastic event. Tickets are limited, so please put your orders in early if you plan to attend.

Technology Upgrades
File this one under good problems to have: we have so many scholars using internet resources for research, writing, coding, and design, that our network has been pushed to its limits on a few occasions. Thus, we have decided it is time to upgrade our equipment. It’s already in the works, but to make this happen earlier than initially planned, we have started a Technology Improvement Campaign. If you would like to contribute, please go to our website for details. Every little bit helps, and there is an option for monthly payments for those who would like to have their latte funds go towards teaching 21st-century skills.

Blisterama Sign-ups
Please remember that each student is required to volunteer for two Blisteramas per year, and each family is required to volunteer for at least one. We have open spots for both students and parent chaperones at a few upcoming events. By request, we have also scheduled two Sunday events this fall to accommodate different schedules.

Parent Hike to Oyster Dome
Our next Parent Hike is scheduled for Friday, October 4, to the top of scenic Oyster Dome. Meat at EA at 9:00 am; we’ll leave promptly and aim to be done and back to school by 1:00. If you are new to the area, or haven’t hiked Oyster Dome in the fall recently, then please contact Liz and join us for this stunning trek.
Community Meal
EA’s first Community Meal of the school year is coming up in a few months. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 27. Explorations students will prepare a pre-Thanksgiving lunch for all community members. Additional details will be made available as the date approaches, but we would love to have all the friends and families from the extended community be there. Please let us know if you plan to attend.
Gear Sale Success!
This year’s gear sale was a blow-out success. We had tons of new and barely-used gear at great prices! Stay tuned to hear more about the success of the sale.
Poker Night
For those who enjoy gambling for a cause (or just dressing up), mark your calendars for October 26th: EA is hosting a poker night. Details to be announced in the coming week.
