Join us For Graduation
Come out (or stay in!) and celebrate our 2020 graduating class! We will host a socially-distanced diploma ceremony in front of EA on Friday, May 29, at 7pm.
We ask our EA friends and families to participate in a vehicle procession in front of EA to show our graduates support. Decorate those vehicles, bring noise makers, be ready to show our love! We will meet in the parking lot of Bellingham High School at 6:45pm and proceed to the school. (Map and more details to come)
If you would like to park across from the school and watch the graduate speeches (prerecorded and projected onto the building), there are very limited spaces. We encourage close friends and families to join, but to stay in their vehicles. We will also have the ceremony and speeches on Facebook Live on our private page and on the EA website. Please contact Liz with any questions.
We have crafted something different and exciting for our final Term End of the 2019-2020 school year. In partnership with Boundary Bay Brewery, we are providing dinner to families (please sign up with Liz) and hosting a Virtual Term End Celebration. Our students are preparing some outstanding videos about their classes to share with you. We will also get a chance to review highlights of the year, congratulate our seniors, and thank everyone in the EA community who has helped make this year amazing despite unusual circumstances. Join us at 7:00pm on Tuesday, June 2.
Ordering for Term End Dinner
Who will order with Boundary Bay Brewery for our Virtual Term End on Tuesday, June 2? We have to figure out numbers. They have been a HUGE supporter of EA for many years and we want to reciprocate the love back to them. They are struggling (like many of us) and it would be awesome for our community to give back. Please email Liz let us know if you plan to dine with us. More details for this event will come in the following week.
Photographers Wanted
We have a few pressing needs for the end of the school year. One of our biggest wishes is to have amazing, professional photographs of our socially-distanced graduation ceremony. Are there any skilled event photographers in our group, or connections to one? Please email if you or someone you know could lend expertise to this event. We hope to give these graduates the best experience possible under the circumstances. Please email Liz to volunteer or with contact info. Thank you!
Other Opportunities to Get Involved
and Help the School
Many families have not had the chance to finish their required volunteer hours for the year. We have many opportunities this summer to help out and stay socially distanced from each other! There are lots of projects in the works to spruce up our unique building.
Here are just SOME of the projects we will be working on. You could help us:
-paint the kitchen, library, and bathrooms
-install new lighting in the library
-deep clean each classroom (who wants to adopt a classroom to clean?!?!)
-file and archive
-shampoo carpets and furniture
-put up new blinds and curtains
-remodel downstairs bathroom
-install and help implement new CDC guidelines for coming back to school in the fall
Contact Liz to offer services, schedule hours, or ask questions about upcoming projects.
Last Day of School: Friday, June 12
While we aren’t able to host our Final X backpacking trip, we do encourage families to make use of our gear, maps, and experience to plan their own adventures. School will be in-session until our scheduled final day, June 12. Students will use this time to complete their self-assessment and participate in the reading challenge (reading list on the way). While we won’t have scheduled classes, teachers and advisors will be available for meetings and to help with self-assessments.
