Vietnam Parents Meeting
We encourage all parents of students going on the Vietnam trip to attend our first parent information meeting, next Wednesday, November 28. We will go over packing lists, a detailed itinerary, and behavior expectations. If there is anything else you would like us to cover, please send your questions to Bacchus in advance so we can be sure to address those topics. The meeting will be at 6:45 pm in the EA library.
Speaking of Packing Lists
We want to highlight some opportunities to support the school while getting great new travel gear. Bluffworks not only makes some of Bacchus’ most essential travel items, they have also been generously supporting the school for many years. Bacchus tells the story of Bluffworks’ connection to Explorations Academy on our website.
This year, they have donated $1000 worth of amazing gear for us to auction off. The money raised will support our ability to offer reduced tuition so that all appropriate students can participate in a truly global education. You can browse the Armchair Auction items and place bids on the EA website. If you just cannot wait for the auction to close, purchase items through our website and Bluffworks will contribute 8% of your order back to Explorations Academy. You can look great and support the school at the same time.
Congratulations to Amelia!
Explorations Academy student Amelia O’Connell recently won the Youth Peace Poetry Competition and recited her winning poem last Friday at the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center. If you missed this chance to see one of our EA scholars recognized in the community, you will have another opportunity coming up. Sylvia Center for the Arts will produce her play “Gravedigger 3” November 30 and December 1. Her play was the audience favorite at the Brass Monkey Cold Read Series. Tickets are $10, $5 for students, and can be purchased at the door or online. Shows start at 9:00 each night.
