Service Day with Tulalip Tribes
On Wednesday, November 6, all middle and high school students will join the Tulalip Tribes for tree planting service work. Service is an important part of EA’s mission and curriculum, and this project will help us offset the carbon footprint of our international trips. We will leave promptly at 9:00 am. Please ensure your child arrives on time that morning with appropriate clothes and gear, including work gloves. Snacks will be provided. In addition, please complete and return the following forms to EA by the morning of November 6.

Parent Meeting for International Expeditions
Congratulations to all of our scholars who will be participating in international trips this winter. Now the fun begins. We have two upcoming meetings for students and their families.
On Tuesday, November 5, all internationally-bound students will meet at lunch to discuss upcoming fundraising, term expectations, and next steps for travel. This meeting is mandatory, and we’ll start promptly at 12:15. Please make sure your child has a sack lunch that doesn’t require cooking so that they can be fully present for our meeting.
On Thursday, November 7, Bacchus and Marley will host a parent meeting for the families of all traveling scholars. We will meet at 5:30 pm in the library to answer questions. Students are welcome to join us, but not required.
Fundraising and Volunteer Meeting
Calling all parents to discuss and plan our largest fundraiser of the year, The Spring Gala. We will also discuss other smaller fundraisers. We will meet on Tuesday, November 5, at 5:30 in the EA library. Please contact Joy or Liz with any questions.
Thanks to…
Huge thanks to WECU for donating towards our Technology Improvement Campaign. In addition to this generous contribution, WECU has provided banking services for the organization for over 20 years. We are still looking for donors to help us with this campaign. Please pass along this link if you know of anyone who might be interested in helping students to develop 21st-century tools.

Pacific Northwest Opera
Starting this weekend, The Pacific Northwest Opera will be performing Mefistofele, the story of the original Faustian bargain told from the devil’s point of view. EA’s own talented Amelia is performing in this show. This is a great opportunity to experience a professional opera production nearby and without big-city prices. Performances are at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon on November 1, 3, 8, and 10. Student tickets are available.
Donate Other People’s Money
Just a reminder that anyone who signs up with SoFi and deposits $100 in a free account will get $50 for their efforts and $100 will be deposited in Bacchus’ account, which will then be donated to the school. We have already earned hundreds of dollars from this simple process.

Parent Hike at Lake Padden
Our next parent hike will be Friday, November 8, at 9:00 am. We’re walking the trails at Lake Padden this time for a shorter, less challenging hike. We’ll meet at school and leave right away, and should be back to EA by noon. Contact Liz for information.
Kitchen Cabinet Refresh
Our kitchen is in desperate need of some new cabinets. Do you have any you can donate? We are looking for three upper cabinets that are 36″x 30″. Additionally, we would like to do a nice cleaning and organizing of the kitchen this month and possibly replace our outdated cookware. Do you have an hour or two to spare? Some under-used pots and pans to pass along? Contact Liz for donations or volunteer scheduling.
Photo of the Week
High school scholars helped fold and fluff hundreds of colorful flowers for the Dia de los Muertos celebration at El Centro de la Raza. Thanks to Marley for capturing this EA moment.
