Monday, March 18 – Inservice: No School
March 21-22 – Middle School Urban Outing
March 27-29 – High School Urban Outing
Middle and high school students will embark on their urban outings later this month. Each trip is being crafted to closely tie in with current cluster topics and lessons.
The middle school outing will take place on March 21 and 22. For Shelter cluster, they will spend their time in Seattle exploring the complicated issue of housing.
All high school students are going to Seattle from March 27 through 29. Students in the Rock & Roll cluster will visit landmarks of the city’s music scene, including indie radio station KEXP and all-ages music venue The Vera Project. Meanwhile, the itinerary for Gender cluster includes a stop at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to study genetics, and a talk with Seattle’s Gender Justice League about equality initiatives in the city.
A quick reminder that priority re-enrollment for current EA students will end April 1. To ensure your family’s place at Explorations Academy next year, please complete the re-enrollment paperwork along with the enrollment fee by March 31. We are happy to print out materials for any family that requires a hard copy. Please contact Bacchus if you have any questions.
We have begun planning for the Spring Auction, our biggest fundraiser of the year. If you would like to be a part of the team please contact Tania. In addition, we are currently collecting items for the event. If you have a connection to a local business or would like to donate something, please let us know.
Blisterama is Back!
We have a busy spring planned, with lots of Blisterama events lined up through May. We request that each family sign up for at least one slot in both the parent and student role as part of your volunteering commitment to the school. The spreadsheet linked below shows dates and open slots for upcoming events. Also, if you or anyone you know has yard work, cleaning, or general labor projects this spring, consider hiring our supremely capable teens to help.
